Lapp Family Market

If you are looking for fresh and wholesome products that you can buy in bulk, but yet still be in a grocery-store atmosphere with a welcoming setting, then look no further than Lapp Family Market.
Located just off of eastbound Route 30 in Latrobe on 216 Kingston Street, this family-owned store offers everything from baking supplies and candy to cheese and meats. Now into their second year of business, the Lapp family gears everything towards families.
“We are all about family and we have food available to help families make their own meals,” said Kendall Lapp, co-owner and manager of the market. Family is at the cornerstone of the business, which employs several members of the Lapp family.
From the moment you walk into the market you get a sense belonging and inspiration – inspiration to make something at home and eat well! From the first browse through the aisles there are many different types of candy, nuts, and dried fruit. There is even a station to make your own fresh peanut butter. There is such a wide variety that it would be difficult to not find what you are looking for. The baking section offers flour, sugar, spices and herbs along with toppings, fillings, and edible decorations of every kind. The market offers all the supplies one would need to make their own candy and treats with having chocolate wafers, cookie cutters, and cookbooks. The possibilities are endless.
The deli stands out to most because of its fresh cheeses and meats, specifically from Walnut Creek Cheese. The deli provides ham, turkey, lunchmeats, and a variety of cheeses and butter in addition to macaroni and potato salads. Every week there is a deli special that places certain items on sale. There are also hot items for sale each day that consist of soups and Panini sandwiches.
Fresh Baked Goods and Breads
There are also many different kinds of baked goods and breads. They now carry Ezekiel bread as well as white and whole grain gluten free bread. The bakery is growing and offers specific treats depending on the season such as fruit filled pies. They also have homemade and canned jellies, jams, preserves, pickled garlic, beets, and applesauce.
If you are a tea drinker there is also a section for you. Tea can be bought in bulk with many different flavors and supplies. Furthermore, there are organic products, gluten-free items, and sugar-free products available. There is also a display of vitamins and oils for natural health and healing.
The market also has family-oriented products outside. One item that stands out is the wooden play sets. A variety of styles are on display and can be seen from the road. There are also deck and patio builder sets as well as outside furniture, fencing, railing, and decorations.
